AGM 2025 Outcome
Date: 20-Nov-2024
Held on the 8th November 2024.
A successful year with the Junior Title in the pocket and a new playground constructed on the club grounds for the community. All delivered with the club finances left in a good position.
The “Stick Draw” fundraiser ran every month without fail and brought in the regular funds that the club needs. The hard work that goes into running the draw was commended. Most importantly, the supporters for buying the tickets were appreciated and thanked.
All that looked after the Adult teams were thanked and appreciated. A job well done as the club heads for the intermediate ranks in 2025. On behalf of the players, Kieran Bowe praised the committee for providing the players and the teams with everything they asked for during the year.
All at Juvenile level were thanked and appreciated. All the coaches, trainers and parents that rowed in at the various different levels were thanked for their hard work and commitment.
Our grounds maintenance crew were also appreciated and thanked. Significant work went into maintaining the mowers and keeping the pitch in good order this year. Also, thanks were shown for the various works such as cleaning, sweeping, power hosing, weeding, painting, hedge cutting and yard resurfacing that went on during the year.

Two major movements at the club after this AGM must be noted. First, Tom Cahill lost his position as Treasurer by the narrowest margin. Tom’s legacy at this club is beyond great and has been long established. His contribution has been unparalleled whether it is raising funds, volunteering or just keeping things ticking over. Second, Mary Whelan had to step away from the club this year. Mary held the position as secretary for many years and that takes a lot of effort and time. Both members are thanked and appreciated for their commitment and hard work throughout the years.
To conclude the AGM, a moment was held to remember all those we lost in the year past. A special mention here for Tony Carter RIP, he was a staunch supporter of Ballypickas Hurling and he was our chief hurl maker for many years.
Thanks again for your continued and valued support

All present observed a minutes silence for all those who passed during the year. In particular, Nonie Wallace who served the club for many years washing the club jerseys and collecting on the gate. Without fail she would have the jerseys cleaned, folded neatly and in the correct order for game day. So, our thoughts are with the Wallace family and indeed all families in the area that have lost a loved one.

Draw Day is here
All the tickets are in and the drum is ready. Today at 2pm outside Gee's Farm Shop we will hold our annual draw. Many tickets have been purchased and we are very pleased with all your support. Money is scarce this year with so many matches cancelled and our normal methods of fundraising impossible. Anyway, we put in a strong effort to contact our usual supporters and sell our calf draw tickets over the past number of weeks. Our online shop is closed now, so whoever is in is in. There is nothing left to do now other than churn up the drum and draw the winners. You can see the draw on our live stream on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ballypickasgaa/) Good luck to everyone!

Hopefully our supporters will find their way through the online shop with ease. You can follow the link bellow to get to the online shop landing page. Thank you for your support!

The Ballinakill Ballypickas Under 17s impressive run this year came to an end at the final hurdle yesterday in Portlaoise. Unfortunately, their opponents were too strong on the day. A great effort this year by the newly formed underage outfit. Maybe an indicator of things to come.
